E-Cars

Here it is possible to add one or more e-cars as additional power consumers.

A designation for the car can be entered at the top.

For the Usage type of the e-car, a choice can be made between two predefined annual profiles:

  • For a commuter car, this profile assumes that the car can be charged between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on working days and all day on weekends.
  • The secondary car is driven only during work days between 10 am and 11 am. The rest of the time the car is not used - during this time the car battery is charged as long as necessary.

At the moment these profiles are not changeable.

The driven distance is equally distributed over all hours in which the car is not being charged.

If the car discharges its entire batteryin between being charged again, it is assumed that it is charged externally so far that it returns with an empty battery.

The net capacity of the battery can be entered below the overall distance.

The Charging rate can be entered at the bottom of the card. Typical rates for charging via electric outlet are 2.9 kW, for charging via wallbox 11-22 kW.

It is assumed that the average consumption is 15 kWh per 100 km. In addition, 261 working days per year and 10% charging losses are assumed. With these assumptions and based on the kilometers driven in the year, capacity of the battery and charging speed, the annual electricity demand for the e-car is calculated.
