General safety instructions

  • Do not use in rooms with highly flammable materials or rooms with a risk of explosion

  • If the scanner falls over, tips over or is thrown, people may be injured or objects may be damaged

  • The scanner must not be operated in the presence of children aged 0 to 14 years

Laser warning

The laser class 2 laser used in the HottScan HS-1 has a red laser beam in the visible range. This laser only causes damage to the eye after an exposure time of 1000 seconds. A short exposure time is not dangerous for the eyes. Under normal circumstances, the eyelid closure reflex protects the eye during radiation. Since the eyelid closure reflex is not guaranteed under all circumstances and for all people, we recommend that you never look into the laser. The laser beam emerges from the upper opening of the pan and tilt head and points in the direction of the vertical of the front panel. The laser is only switched on briefly, during the standstill phase. Always look in a different direction to that of the laser beam. Also watch out for mirrors or other highly reflective surfaces. You are optimally safe if you leave the room during the scan.

The HottScan HS-1 scanner is a measuring device that, despite its robust construction, must be treated like a measuring device. Every measuring device is sensitive to a variety of environmental influences, which are listed below. Depending on the strength of the impact, the scanner can be completely destroyed or lose basic functions. In other cases, the measuring device can perform the basic function but, for example, lose measurement accuracy. Improper use occurs at least in the following cases:

Impacts

  • The scanner falls off the tripod during assembly/disassembly

  • The tripod with the scanner mounted is knocked over

  • The transport case is tipped over, dropped or thrown

  • Hitting parts of a building when moving the scanning positions

  • Earthquakes

Temperature

  • operating outside the temperature range

  • charging outside the temperature range

  • quick and frequent changes from hot to cold

  • overheating and undercooling in the transport case

The terms of use can be found here: Techincal data and operating conditions

Humidity

  • in a humid environment with dripping water or splashing water

  • high humidity or air saturated with water vapor

  • outside buildings in rain, snow or fog

  • do not immerse in liquids

Batteries/charger

  • Regular recharging when not in use is not carried out > the battery can be destroyed

  • Incorrect storage temperature > the battery can be destroyed

  • Using the charger on devices other than the room scanner > the charger can be destroyed
