Notes for proper scanner setup on-site
In the left floor plan, the scanner (red ball) was placed unfavorably. From the scanner's perspective, the bottom wall with the door is not visible and cannot be modeled in 3D modeling. The scanner is conveniently located on the right floor plan. From the scanner's point of view, all room contours are visible and the room can be completely modeled with all openings in 3D modeling.
It is recommended to fully extend all leg segments on the scanner. The camera is then at an "eye level" of approx. 163 cm. This height is well suited for modeling because it comes close to natural viewing habits.
Sometimes large table surfaces obstruct the view of the room, in this case it can make sense to retract one or two leg segments and place the scanner on the table.
